Intermediate Care Team
Intermediate Care is a service for people over the age of 18, who need an urgent short period of rehabilitation, treatment, or care. This may be due to a recent illness, a hospital stay, or a reduction in their ability to remain independent at home. The Newton Abbot (and surrounding areas) team can be reached on 0300 500 4042 (Monday – Friday) or 0300 456 4622 (weekends and bank holidays). Moorland Community Care
This charity offers a wide a range of help, including in-person, wellbeing support. They offer a programme for people aged 55 years and over, and work with people to improve wellbeing and boost confidence and reduce isolation. Their volunteers can also help with shopping, transport and collecting medication if needed as well as a befriending service. MCC also offers personalised support and advice to people with memory problems or dementia and their carers across Bovey Tracey and surrounding villages.
