Extreme Heat Warning Posted or Updated on 23 Jun 2026

Wednesday and Thursday are forecast to be the hottest June days on record, with temperatures expected to reach at least 39°C in southern and central England.

Health impacts will be felt across the population, while people with conditions like heart or lung disease, diabetes, kidney problems or mental health conditions may be more affected.

As well as affecting individuals, the high temperatures will have a significant impact across the health and social system and beyond.
